The Harry Fox Agency (HFA) represents music publishers for their mechanical and digital licensing needs. HFA issues licenses, collects royalties, and distributes payments on behalf of affiliated publishers, including Too Lost.
Keep in mind, HFA is not a Performing Rights Organization (PRO).
What HFA Does
- Licensing recordings for CDs, digital downloads, ringtones, and other reproductions
- Collecting and distributing mechanical royalties
- Auditing and verifying royalty statements
- Negotiating new licensing opportunities
- Addressing piracy and infringement claims
What HFA Does Not Do
- Represent songwriters or publishers for sync placements (film, TV, ads, etc.)
- Handle performance rights for public plays (radio, venues, streaming, etc.)
- Issue print rights for lyric publication or lyric changes
- Issue master use licenses for using original sound recordings
- Provide sample clearance services
If you participate in Too Lost’s Sync/Publishing program, your works are registered with HFA. Too Lost collects royalties from HFA on your behalf and reports these earnings quarterly in your Too Lost account.
