iTunes Instant Gratification allows listeners to access select tracks from your upcoming release before the release date. This feature helps build excitement and engagement by giving listeners early access to your release during the pre-order period.
How It Works
When you set up a pre-order for your release, you can designate certain tracks as Instant Gratification tracks. These tracks:
- Are available for individual purchase on the iTunes Store during the pre-order period.
- Are available for streaming on Apple Music as part of the pre-add experience.
- Will automatically download (or become available to download) once a listener purchases the pre-order.
Apple’s Instant Gratification Guidelines
To comply with Apple’s guidelines, make sure your setup meets the following requirements:
- Your release must have a pre-order set up in order to be eligible for Instant Gratification.
- Instant Gratification availability cannot begin before the pre-order start date.
- You can designate up to 50% of the release’s total tracks as Instant Gratification tracks.
- The combined price of all Instant Gratification tracks must be at least one mid-tier track less than the full album price.
