When a new release is distributed, streaming services may occasionally assign it to the wrong artist page or create a new one altogether. This often happens when multiple artists share identical or similar names.
It’s important to verify If your music appears on the wrong artist page, or another artist’s music appears on yours. Not confirming this first may cause your request to be delayed or rejected by services.
Here’s how to check:
- Go to the artist page in question.
- Look for the oldest release on the artist page.
- If your release is the oldest, it’s your page.
- If someone else’s release is the oldest, it’s their page.
If your release is mixed up with another artist on YouTube, please see our Help Center article here: My Release Was Added To The Wrong YouTube Channel. What Should I Do?
If You Do Not Have the Oldest Release (Your Music Is on the Wrong Page)
- Go to the Support section of your Too Lost account.
- Create a Content Mapping ticket.
- Select the Release in question.
- Indicate whether you have a pre-existing artist page:
- If you do not, select This is my first release, I need a new artist page to be created.
- If you do, select My release was delivered to the wrong page.
- Fill out the required information and click Submit Ticket.
If You Do Have the Oldest Release (Another Artist’s Music Is on Your Page)
- Go to the Support section of your Too Lost account.
- Create a Content Mapping ticket.
- Select the Release in question.
- Select Another artist’s release is on my artist page.
- Fill out the required information and click Submit Ticket.
Once submitted, requests are typically processed by services within 2-7 business days. Too Lost is not notified once a request is completed, so we recommend keeping an eye on your artist page to confirm when the fix has been made.
